What are Tinctures

In the simplest terms, tinctures are a medicine made by dissolving an extract in a liquid medium such as Ethanol, Olive, Canola, Grapeseed, and MCT Oils. Tinctures are quickly absorbed under the tongue and are appropriate for the treatment of many conditions. Use of cannabinoid medicines should always be used under the advice of a physician.

WHAT IS CBD?

CBD – Cannabidiol is one of at least 113 active cannabinoids identified in cannabis. It is a major phytocannabinoid, accounting for up to 40% of the plant’s extract. WHAT IS CBG?

CBG stands for Cannabigerol, it is one of over 100 cannabinoids found in the cannabis plant. And while pretty much any hemp or cannabis plant contains some CBG, only young cannabis plants contain appreciable amounts.

Cannabinoids are compounds that interact with the body’s endocannabinoid system (ECS). The endocannabinoid system is a network of receptors and neurotransmitters that regulate a variety of important functions, including mood, appetite, pain perception, inflammation, and more.

While THC is the best-known cannabinoid thanks to its psychoactive effects, CBD has been getting a lot of attention lately for its potential therapeutic benefits.

However, CBG is beginning to emerge as a potent player in the world of natural health.

It is often referred to as the “mother cannabinoid” because it is the precursor to other cannabinoids like CBD and THC. In other words, all cannabinoids start as CBG.

Compared to CBD, CBG has a similar molecular weight and very similar molecular mass. And that means it has similar health properties, too, but more on this later.

ABOUT CBG

WHAT DOES CBG DO?

CBG may offer powerful anti-inflammatory effects without the ‘high’ that comes with THC or other cannabinoids. This means it can’t cause euphoria because CBGA, the acidic form of CBG, doesn’t bind to the same neurological targets as its cousin THC does.

Instead CBG is thought to work behind the scenes by reducing chronic stress and inflammation in your body.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF CBG?

Inflammatory bowel disease. CBG seems to reduce the inflammation associated with inflammatory bowel disease, according to a 2013 study conducted on miceTrusted Source.

Glaucoma. Medical cannabis seems to effectively treat glaucoma, and CBG might be partly responsible for its efficacy. A study published in 2008Trusted Source suggests that CBG might be effective in treating glaucoma because it reduces intraocular pressure.

Bladder dysfunctions. Some cannabinoids seem to affect the contractions of the bladder. A 2015 studyTrusted Source looked at how five different cannabinoids affect the bladder, and it concluded that CBG shows the most promise at treating bladder dysfunctions.

Bacterial infections. A 2008 studyTrusted Source suggests that CBG can kill bacteria, particularly methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), which causes drug-resistant staph infections. These infections can be hard to treat and fairly dangerous.

Cancer. A 2014 studyTrusted Source looked at colon cancer in rats and concluded that CBG might reduce the growth of cancer cells and other tumors.

Appetite loss. A 2016 study on ratsTrusted Source suggested that CBG could stimulate the appetite. Appetite-stimulating chemicals could be used to help those with conditions such as HIV or cancer.

CBG VS CBD

CBG has more powerful antibacterial effects than CBD, which makes it especially promising as a cream or topical.

A recent study affirmed that “CBG proved to be marvelous at tackling pathogenic bacteria.”

CBG is also more stimulating than other cannabinoids. CBD, on the other hand, becomes sedating enough at high doses that many people use it as a sleep aid.

HOW TO TAKE CBG OIL?
